I'll try to outline to basics of getting started: Start with a little and build on it.īoil_Them_Cabbage.tef Boil_Them_Cabbage.mid It's a learning process, so don't try to learn everything at once. You can import this midi file or you can open this tef file and we can use it to discuss what you want to accomplish. So, if you can find the place in Tabledit where it allows you to set the instrument (on my version it is under the Score tab and Instrument), set the instrument to Dulcimer DAD. I have the trial or demo version of Tabledit on my computer and might be able to answer some very basic for getting started questions. When Musedit stops working, I'm thinking I will go to ABC notation, which seems to be impervious to operating system software changes.īut, in the meantime, I can offer some suggestions based on my Musedit experience and what an equivalent function might be in Tabledit. I use Musedit (and have too many Musedit files to count), which is no longer supported but the software still more or less works on Windows 10. There may be some people who are providing classes for Tabledit instruction related to creating dulcimer tablature files and maybe they will provide some input on this thread. Maybe some experience required would be knowledge of sheet music notation and general experience with software tools. apk file from the TablEdit Forum pages (Files section) you should be able to do something similar - see over at: /neo/groups/Ta.Many of the software programs are available with the expectation that a person can "self-teach" themselves on how to create sheet music and tablature files. So, TwoDogs, if you download the Tefview for Android. Sideloading of apps is only possible if the user has allowed "Unknown Sources" in their Security Settings." I ask as Kindle will not allow access to teh Google Play Store. " Just a thought Owen - where did you download the TefView. I posted the below to help Owen get TefView for Android running on his Kindle Fire and it worked for him - here is hoping you can do the same: I have no idea whether this is a possibility under Android or iOS versions. In the PC version of TefView (and TablEdit) it is possible to assign SoundFonts and have them used during the playback - some of the FREE soundfonts available can give very good play-back sounds indeed. Perhaps I am wrong and somebody else can point me in the correct direction ? If all you want is to be able to hear how the tune goes and to be able to play along with it then I think the sound (even of the banjo) is OK but if you are after a performance element to the played back tunes then I doubt that at this time in the technology that will be possible. I suppose it depends upon what you want the sound for in your use of the app. The banjo on my Google Nexus-10 tablet also sounds roughish but I am quite happy with the guitar sound (not a real guitar of course but a midi sounds representation). Must admit I do not know whether all Android devices use the same midi sounds or not. Sadly, the author of TefView has no impact on the sounds in the Android version - it depends upon the synthesiser in your Android device. I hope that will help all the Banjo players here and especially those with a collection of TabRite files or those who download such files from the tab library. Here is hoping it works well and that Matthieu will consider then adding the same facility to all versions of TefView in the near future. The full version should be uploaded to Google Play Store soon to allow those who have downloaded the FREE app to update their copy and thereby obtain the new features. apk file to the TablEdit Forum files section on Yahoo and has indicated that one of the things to be tested with this 'new' version is the ability to open. A couple of days ago I emailed Matthieu Lemeschelle (the author of TablEdit and TefView) and asked him to consider including the ability to import.
